DISCOVER MORE ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Tathyane Ludwig,

I am a freelance translator and independent writer who transforms my deserts and oases into stanzas to announce love and share secrets.

From lawyer to poet, how could this be? Well, when deciding which career to choose, I listened to people saying that "to become a lawyer one must like to read a lot", and naturally applied myself to start my studies in that direction. Yet in my first years of college, I noticed I preferred reading literature to laws, but my father asked me to finish what I had begun. So that's what I did.

After that, I worked with International Business at a publisher and travelled abroad. Coming back, I experienced metanoia and invested my upcoming years in building a home for my family. Always reading and translating books and songs, one day I decided to start a post-degree in English translation.

By this time, I experienced another call, this time to employ my creativity in a new way: writing. Perhaps because of my favourite book's language, or music, which I also love, the fact is that soon poems started overflowing with me. In 2022, I published my first book in Portuguese, Versos Inaugurals, and in 2023, For Beauty and for Glory - poems, prayers, and thoughts.

My poems were presented in national and international magazines and digital journals such as Ultimato, Cosmic Daffodil, and Sequoia Speaks. I also share prose and poetry on Medium.

Still dedicated to my family and community in Brazil, I have graciously found time to write my third book with the American poet Dara Searcy-Gardner (author of Salt and Magic), and launching a new book in Portuguese called A rotina em minha retina - crônicas de uma vida como a sua, with the editorial group Carvana.

When not writing, reading, or spending time with my friends, you can find me taking long walks, cooking lasagnas with shiitake sauce, or caressing my grey cat, Lewis.

You can follow me on Instagram and TikTok, where I regularly share fresh poems and thought-provoking statements.
